
Marisa Balamucki
Assistant Director
Troy Colt Marching Band

Marisa Balamucki has been an elementary band director for the Troy School District since 2024 and assistant band director for the Troy Colt Marching Band since 2026. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Michigan State University. During her time at Michigan State, she studied percussion methods with Dr. Jon Weber, and performed with the Spartan Marching Band Drumline, concert band, symphony band, and percussion ensemble. She was also selected by Dr. Arris Golden as the percussion coach for the Spartan Youth Wind Symphony. Ms. Balamucki is currently pursuing her master’s degree in music education through Boston University.
Ms. Balamucki is a graduate of Troy High School and former member of the Troy Colt Band program. In 2023, she joined the Troy School District as an elementary music teacher and accepted the elementary band director position the following year. She has a passion for inspiring beginner musicians, and is responsible for teaching beginning brass, woodwind, and percussion students at each of Troy’s elementary schools. Ms. Balamucki seeks to promote a lifelong pursuit and love for music with her students and is honored to return to the Troy Colt Marching Band as an assistant director.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Balamucki performs with the Detroit Red Wings Drumline and had the privilege of composing the bass drum feature piece for the group. She enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new spots around metro Detroit.
