From swing and Latin to funk and blues, students in this group explore a wide range of styles while developing their skills in improvisation, ensemble playing, and stylistic interpretation.

Feel the Groove. Explore the Sound.
As a curricular ensemble (taken as a class during the school day), Jazz Ensemble is perfect for students looking to broaden their musical knowledge and push themselves creatively. Unlike other Troy Colt ensembles, Jazz Ensemble does not require participation in the Marching Band, making it a flexible yet immersive option for students who want to experience the energy and artistry of jazz.
Whether you’re new to jazz or a seasoned soloist, the Troy Jazz Ensemble offers a unique opportunity to connect with others through spontaneous, expressive, and groove-filled performance.
